look at it historically a bit further: who kept invading and trying to take over China? The Japanese, throughout history, have been invading and taking over the mainland. I think it was the Chinese peasants, perhaps, improvising weapons.

But it would also …
But it would also reduce the impact force; a bamboo bo would bend which would absorb some of the force. Also the mass would be less which will greater reduce the effectiveness of the weapon. Mass x Velocity = Power

When he/she cutted the movie, he/she just cutted the film, not the sound.

Why didn’t they …
Why didn’t they call it the chinese staff, china had it first, china created the forms and techniques first. I have never seen a Japanese spin a staff, only Chinese.
